Tan Hill, the highest Pub in England

This weekend myslef and my Fiancee went to Yorkshire to see my future inlaws and stayed over for the weekend. We had a lovely time as we allways do up north as its like a little holiday for the both of us. On the saturday we all decided to go to Tan Hill. Tan Hill is the highest Public House in the uk. They have some great food there and the inside is just how i like it, rustic, great big warm fire as soon as you get in there, old dog lieing next to the fire catching the warmth and a house cat, merrily walking round the public.

Tan Hill has live music on , which i would love to see. They have had the Arctic Monkeys play there before alongside with The Klaxons. See here for news letter.

Here is the pub itself

Along side two more images on the way upto the Pub. It was very snowy but the sun illuminated the wonderful clouds.

Sunday Walk in Shardlow

Saturday night consisted of some good times with friends, the morning after we all had breakfast and then decided to go for a nice walk down to Shardlow by the canal to a local pub, The Harrington Arms. Boy it was very very windy and and it was a little difficult to steady the camera , but managed.

During the walk we had to cross over a newly made bridge. Very nicely constructed.

A sunday stroll at Attenborough nature reserve

Typical sunday walk with my fiance and good friends before a nice tea at the local pub The Plank and Leggitt in Sawley. We all decided over a nice cup of tea to go to the local nature reserve, which in the winter is a little bare yet the weather stayed good and had a spot of sunshine when the sun set in the evening.

This seagul was flying around the local nature reserve’s  coffee shop so i decided to do a little panning with the 5D and 70-200L

While the sun was setting i caught this silhouette of a Canadian goose.

Then home time and back to the pub for tea, i caught the sun setting while walking passed a electric pylon, i edited slightly in lightroom 3. Glad i took this photo as i love the effect the sunlight has through the metal structure. Canon 5D with 24-70L

Robin Hoods Bay, Goathland Railway

For the Christmas period of December  i spent my time with my lovely fiance and her family in a cottage they rent out every Christmas in Goathland. All the family go and we exchange presents and have a great time together. My Fiance took me to Robin-Hoods bay near Scarborough where i caught some great sea action.

The Bay Hotel looked right onto the sea front where the tide was rushing in as it was about 16:30 ish so the light was slightly low but managed to get a good contrast on the photos.

Next is from Goathland Railway station about 10 mins walk from the cottage we were at. The steam train entered the station at 11:15.

My lovely fiance whistling for the train while she waits

An old chap looking from the steam train as it departs.
